Okay, I’m in heaven…albeit history geek/Twihard heaven. I’ve been wanting to post this since I happened across it on Saturday, but as I’d bought a copy not only for myself but also for a friend of mine, I had to wait until now to post since I was finally able to give it to her today.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to sit down and hack though a historical essay book–one of those that just has an editor and is chalk full of various essays, on various subjects. Usually these are nice, compartmentalized sources, but sometimes they’re just annoying. Well, this book certainly does not fit into the latter category.
Twilight & History, edited by Nancy R. Reagin, a real-life history professor! Do you know what this means? It means that it’s a totally legit analysis of Twilight and its characters, you know from a historical/academic perspective.
I’m personally looking forward to the count ‘em: not one, but two essays on (sigh) Jasper. I know!!! I’m a freak of the Twi-universe. (I’m just looking forward to better hair in Eclipse after what one of my friends called his “Golden Girls hair” in New Moon.)

Oh, and book info available from Wiley.
