While scrambling to finish up my work for the semester last night, I overheard a T.V. news story talking about Bob Hope and it pulled my attention away for a bit as it reminded me of what I love about Bob Hope.

What an amazing person he was! For almost six decades, he traveled overseas and entertained the troops, bringing them a much needed morale boost. He was awarded over fifty honorary degrees at various institutions, illustrating his profound impact. He was married to the same woman for 69 years, and was all around a cool guy.

But, what made me listen to the news story was this one-liner. This guy is timeless!

“Normally I don’t go for too many political jokes. Too many of them are getting elected.”

Ahahahahaa! Oh, how true!
